In London, designers continue the exploration of pajama dressing. Thepajama pant and top rise to the surface here, while previously in New York patterned pants were sometimes coupled with pajama silhouettes.Drawstrings are optional.

Richard Nicoll takes the notion of sleepwear one step further with a 60s Nightingale collection which combined both vintage nightgownreference with 60s space-age shapes. Transparency is a key take-away.

In case patterned pants don’t quite do it for you, there’s an even bolder expression on the horizon. Behold the matched set. Yes, matchy-matchy tops and bottoms are back, much to the delight of Spring 12′s pattern explosion. Of course in comparison to New York collections which practically required sunglasses, in London designers pair down matched sets to calmer motifs, many of which delve into pajama dressing. More on that shortly.
